Oil extraction in Krasnoyarsk region to grow by 8 mln tons within 10 years – Governor

​Oil extraction in the Krasnoyarsk region is to grow by 8 mln tons within 10 years and make up 30 mln tons, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, V. Tolokonsky, said.

In the short-term perspective, within 5 years, we must reach 25 mln tons, in perspective (8-10 years) – 30 mln tons, he said. About 1 mln tons of extracted oil brings 1 bln roubles of revenue to the budget.

Currently up to 22 mln tons of oil a year are extracted in the Krasnoyarsk region. The main extraction is held at the Vankor deposit which in future will slightly reduce the extraction. The growth will be held on the account of new deposits: Lodochny, Suzun, Yurubcheno-Tokhoma.

The Government of the Krasnoyarsk region plan to develop 2 centers of oil extraction: North-Western (Vankor, Suzun, Lodochny deposit) and Priangari (deposits of Evenky and Nizhny Priangarie). In 2025-2030 it is planned to engage the deposits of the East-Taymyr block at the coast of the Laptev Sea and in the Khatanga Bay.
