Chelyabinsk zinc plant reduced sales of zinc in Russia

The Chelyabinsk zinc plant has summed up the financial results of is activity in January-March 2014.
In the first quarter of 2014, the consolidated revenues made up 3.133 billion rubles that is by 1% less than in the first quarter of 2013. At the same time, the proceeds from sales of zinc and zinc alloys decreased by 12% as compared with January-March of the previous year and amounted to 1.668 billion rubles. The fall of the revenue was caused by decrease in sales volumes at the domestic market by 23% (in the first quarter of 2014 - 20.9 thousand tons, in the first quarter of 2013 - 27.1 thousand tons).
