Gazpromneft and Shell studies variants of tax benefits for Salym Petroleum Development in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district

Gazpromneft and Shell consider different variants to obtain tax benefits for their joint venture Salym Petroleum Development (SPD), deputy head of Gazpromneft, V.Yakovlev reported.

"We didn’t fill an application, but there are mechanisms that are available for us. We see two possible options: either transfer of SPD to excess-profits tax that would be, probably, the most ssensible solution, or another option - the deduction for costs associated with the use of a tertiary method,"- Alexander Yakovlev said on the margins of the 21st World Petroleum Congress.

At present, the issue of excess-profits tax introduction in the oil industry is in the development stage.
