United Shipbuilding Corporation impedes Lukoil on the Caspian Sea

Lukoil is again dissatisfied with the pace of work of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) for construction of a platform for offshore field n.a. Filanovsky in the Caspian Sea. The structure of the oil company responsible for the project, demanded the head of the company to improve the organization of works and accused the corporation of failing to solve problems. OSK recognizes the difficulties, but assures that the process is "fully under control". Experts remind that the delay in the timing is a standard situation for Russia, but don’t see big problems for the Lukoil’s production even with missed deadlines.
As the Kommersant has got to know, head of Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Nikolai Lyashko wrote a letter to head of OSK Alexei Rakhmanov, in which he harshly criticized the work of the corporation for the completion of the platform for the Filanovsky field on the Caspian shelf. This is one of the largest projects of Lukoil (its launch is scheduled for the end of the year). According to sources of the Kommersant, familiar with the letter, Mr. Lyashko complains that there is a critical situation at the facility, as OSK’s contractors systematically don’t fulfill plans, interaction of sub-contractors is not built, there is a shortage of materials and poorly organized logistics. Documentation, which is necessary to launch the platform, isn’t ready too. Lukoil doesn’t comment on the situation.
