VTB promises to save Mechel without government help.

The largest creditors of "Mechel" are going to find a way to save the company on the brink of bankruptcy, even if the Russian government refuses to help it, Andrey Kostin, the head of VTB, assured.

"Now the most important thing is when the government determines whether it is ready to participate in addressing this problem in some way. If it is, then how, if it is not ready, then the largest creditor banks - Sberbank, VTB and Gazprombank – will gather and find a solution to this problem. It may be different, it will be directed at the preservation of the company", - A. Kostin told on the air of the TV channel "Russia 24".

According to the head of VTB, the debates over the fate of "Mechel" only hinders the rescue of the company and reduce its capitalization.
