ArcelorMittal Temirtau to shorten the work hours because of decrease of the demand for production

From Monday, the subsidiary of the largest world steel smelting company ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan - ArcelorMittal Temirtau has switched over to part-time working because of the reduction of the demand for its products. “Because of the lack of orders and the decrease of works on production, the mood of "part-time" is introduced from September 16th of 2013 to keep the skilled workers and staff numbers,” – the company reported.

“This means that employees will work 4 days with a 6-hour working day and 1 day with 8-hour working day or 4 days during 8 hours. At the same time, missing 2 hours or 1 day, when person doesn’t work, is 50% paid”.
