Gazprom is ready to consider a possibility of extra supplies of LNG to Japan

There was held a working meeting of the chairman of the Board of Management, A.Miller and the CEO of Mitsui, M.Iidzima. The parties discussed possible directions of cooperation, focused on the restoration of a stable energy supply to Japan.
The participants of the meeting agreed that above-target liquefied natural gas volumes, delivered by Gazprom, has a significant meaning for the stabilization of energy supply of the country, the press-service of the Russian company states. A.Miller said that Gazprom is ready to consider the possibility of extra LNG supply keeping to Japan, if it is required.
The matters, concerning challenging cooperation of the companies within the frame of the project Sakhalin-2 have been discussed in the course of negotiations, as well as possible directions of cooperation in gas processing and gas chemistry within the framework of the Eastern gas programme.
It was noted by Japan that an increase of demand for LNG will go up quickly and new prospects of cooperation with Gazprom will be opened.
A.Miller said summing up the meeting: “It worth noting that the result of the today’s negotiations is a positive attitude of the parties towards a large-format profound cooperation in the gas sector.
