Russia ready to invest 2 trillion rubles to development of its Arctic zone

The Russian authorities are ready to allocate from the federal budget over 600 billion rubles to the social and economic development of the Russian Arctic zone, the Minister of Regional Development I. Slyunyayev says. Within the next 7 years, the total investment to the purpose will reach 2 trillion rubles.

The authorities hope to raise over 1 trillion rubles using out of budget sources, including from the large Russian companies. The Minister does not name them precisely but only Gazprom and Rosneft have the right for the shelf deposits development.

The Ministry is going to bring the project of the state program to the Government before November 1. Now the document is coordinated in the federal departments.
