Samruk –Kazyna prepares for privatization the assets for 2.5 trln tenge

​The NWF Samruk –Kazyna  prepares for privatization, including by means of public offering, the assets worth 2.5 trln tenge.

It is planned to divest 43 large assets, including the IPO of KazMunaiGas, KTZh, Kazatomprom, Samruk –Energo and Tau-ken Samruk with the sale of at least 25% at the site of the future financial center of Astana. The list out of 182 non-core assets subject to restructuring or privatization by the accelerated rates in 2016-2017 by means of auctions was made.

The total value of the capital of all the enumerated assets for sale made up about 2.5 trln tenge with a significant potential for growth of market value at the time of assessment.

As a result of privatization and restructuring some large companies will be optimized. The number of companies in the structure of KMG is planned to be reduced from 206 to 75, of KTZh- from 102 to 30, of Kazatomprom – from 82 to 38, of Samruk-Energo- from 38 to 19.

As a result of such restructuring only of these companies, by 2020 the positive effect for 680 bln tenge will be reached.
