Gazprom issues an invoice for $2.5 billion to Naftogaz

On Tuesday, Gazprom issued an invoice to Naftogaz Ukrainy for gas, untaken by the Ukrainian company in the third quarter of 2015 on the term of "take or pay", the Russian company reports.
"Under the current contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy on sale and purchase of gas (dated 2009), the buyer is obliged to pay a minimum annual amount of gas. Based on the terms of the contract, the minimum annual amount of gas in the third quarter of 2015 was 10.485 billion cubic meters. With this in mind, as well as the volume of gas, supplied by Gazprom to the Ukraine in the third quarter of 2015, Naftogaz was billed for $2.549 billion," - Gazprom reports.
