Rosneft increases its drilling capacity

Rosneft plans to buy the Orenburg drilling company (OBK) from VTB-Leasing. The approximate amount of the contract is $250 million. The oil company doesn’t comment on this information. OBK, was created in 2001, was previously a structure of BP-TNK.

The assets of the drilling company were sold in 2004 and now controlled by VTB-Leasing. Today its assets are controlled by Cyprian enterprises Lodevi Trading Ltd. (65%) and Ulamor Finance Ltd. (35%). In 2012, the OBK’s proceeds reached 7.4 billion rubles, and the profit – 164 million rubles. The main customers of drilling operations are Orenburgneft, Tatneft, Lukoil, Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz (in Tajikistan) and Rosneft.
