Albania is ready to accept Azerbaijani gas

Azerbaijan and Albania have agreed to establish a special working group to prepare a feasibility study of the master plan for the gas supply to Albania, SOCAR reports.

The agreement was reached after discussions in the Albanian capital Tirana, which in addition to SOCAR and representatives of the Government of Albania was also attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Secretariat of the Energy Community, a consortium for the construction of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), BP, Investment Network for the Western Balkans (WBIF).

During the meeting, the Minister of Energy and Industry of Albania Damian Giknuri appreciated the Azerbaijan's role in the development of the Southern Gas Corridor project and the support, provided by SOCAR in realization of the general plan of the gas supply to Albania.
