New drying furnace at Uralelectromed allows plant to reduce energy consumption

On Wednesday, a new vacuum drying furnace, designed for drying sludge as a result of copper electrolysis, was launched at the roasting site of chemical and metallurgical shop of Uralelectromed. This was reported by the press centre of UGMK, which includes the plant.

Drying of the sludge is one of the major process steps in the preparation of silver-gold alloy. As experts explain, before feeding the sludge to a reverberatory furnace, it is important to remove excess moisture from it and to dry it to the optimum moisture content - 5.7%, in the future it enables to avoid the production costs.
