Pipe companies might not keep production at the level of 2015 due to fall in purchases by Transneft and Gazprom

ChTPZ group shipped 2.019 mln tons of pipes to consumers in 2015 (by 3% less than in 2014), the company reports.

The insignificant shipment reduction is connected with the completion of a number of large projects of Transneft, delay in realization of pipeline projects in the CIS and the general demand fall for pipes in the market from the part of the industrial, energy and construction enterprises.

In 2015 compared with 2014, ChTPZ increased the shipment of seamless pipes by 4% to 1,081 thousand tons. 399 thousand tons of OCTG pipes of this volume were shipped to consumers, including 8.2 thousand tons with Premium-thread. The growth of shipment in the OCTG segment against 2014 made up 49% (+132 thousand tons).

The growth of volumes became possible due to the held modernization of rolling capacities of ChTPZ group and demand rise from the part of Russian pipe consumers due to the realized program of import substitution.
