Statoil intends to drill 4 wells within project with Rosneft

Despite sanctions, imposed against Rosneft, the Norwegian company Statoil plans to drill four wells in its joint projects with the Russian state-owned company in 2015-2016. This was announced by press secretary of Statoil Knut Rostad.

Two wells will be drilled on the shelf of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, and two more - in Western Siberia.

Statoil believes that the EU sanctions don’t apply for these projects, however Rostad assured that the company intended to obtain confirmation of this from the Norwegian authorities.
