Tax experiments in oil and gas industry approved

Yesterday, the Government considered a draft energy strategy thought until 2035, after which the document was predictably sent back for revision. Now its approval is planned not earlier than in autumn. The main surprise of the meeting was the fact that Dmitry Medvedev approved in principle the draft tax law on financial result (FRT) in the oil industry, antagonizing the Ministry of Finance, although criteria for selection of pilot projects for its were not agreed yet. According to analysts, oil companies can now add additional deposits to the list of "pilot projects".

Serious discussion, apparently, was not intended: at the beginning of his opening speech the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the Government was going to approve the document not earlier than in autumn. As the Kommersant wrote on March 17, the most important issues of the industry development in the draft energy strategy were presented in the form of a fork, the decision on which wasn’tmade. Thus, taking into account the new rescheduling the adoption of sectoral strategies, in particular the general scheme of the gas industry, is postponed to 2016.
