Turkey announced of reaching the agreement on discount for gas from Russia

The agreements on the discount for the Russian gas shipped to Turkey have been reached but not signed as yet, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, T. Yildyz, said at the Oil and Gas Conference Turoge-2015 in Ankara.

In February Mr. Yildyz said that long and difficult negotiations between Turkey and Russia ended with the agreement on Gazprom’s granting a 10.25% discount. Gazprom confirmed only the fact of reaching the price agreement but not the volume of the discount. The negotiations on the discount were in a dead end: Gazprom wanted to apply it to the contract price, Botas – to the basic price.

Mr. Yildyz said: “All rumors that there are problems in the negotiations with Russia are groundless. I have already announced the agreed discount of 10.25%. This is true as I represent the official source of information. The documents on the discount are not signed as yet but this is a matter of time. We have agreed, this is the main thing”.
