In 2015, oilfield works in Kazakhstan fell by 25%

Last year, the volumes of oilfield works fell by a quarter in Kazakhstan, director general of Union of oilfield companies of the country Nurlan Zhumagulov said on Tuesday.

"By results of 2015, in Kazakhstan, the volume of oilfield works decreased by 25% on the average. And this is at the average oil price of $51. And in the first quarter of 2016, the average price didn’t exceed $40. Therefore, today the priority areas for the oil companies are improving the efficiency of existing fields and the preparation of the industry to the new conditions, requiring optimization and innovation,"- Zhumagulov said at the briefing.
