Kolomoysky to lose Russian ferroalloy market

An event that could adversely affect the Ukrainian ferroalloy producers happened at the May holidays. During his recent visit in Russia, the Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed with Vladimir Putin on the construction of a plant for the production of electrolytic manganese.

Among the many documents, which the Chinese leader signed during his recent visit to Moscow, there were agreements between the Russian company ChEK-SU VC and the Chinese corporation Sinosteel on the construction of the electrolytic manganese plant in Khakassia, as well as a plant for processing of manganese ore in the Kemerovo region.

The total cost of the project will be 40 billion rubles. In addition, it is expected that the project will create 2.5 thousand new jobs.
