Gas imports from Europe to the Ukraine will be 2-2.5 billion cubic m in 2013 and at least 5 billion cubic m in 2014, the Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry of the Ukraine, E. Stavitsky says. He claims that Naftogaz Ukraine has reduced gas imports from Russia by 30% in 2013 and will further increase the decline in 2014, and will double gas imports from Europe. In his opinion, development of the national shale gas fields at the Black Sea will lead to a further reduction in Russian gas supplies to the state.
