Bashneft increases production in Western Siberia

A new big player has appeared on the oil market of Ugra. In the first nine months of 2015, Bashneft produced more than 1.4 million tons of oil in Western Siberia. This is 2.5 times more than in the same period of the previous year.

The main volume of the production was provided by the Sorovskoye field in the Nefteyugansk district. It was opened within the East Vuemskogo licensed area in 2002 and put into trial operation in December of 2012. The development of the field is carried out by Burneftegaz, which is included in the structure of Bashneft from March 2014.

- With the arrival of the new owner, it was decided to change the scheme of the development of Sorovskoye field. By results of the three-dimensional seismic survey and on the basis of hydrodynamic model of the deposit, we started drilling more complex, but also more productive horizontal wells. As a result, in the first nine months of this year, 1.232 million tons of oil were produced at the Sorovskoye field. The increase as compared with the same period of the previous year made up more than two times, - said general director of Burneftegaz Alexander Scherbinin during the press tour to the field, held for regional journalists in early October.
