"Gazprom" can make a bet on the "Altai" pipeline.

This pipeline into China can be built faster than the "Power of Siberia".

CNPC is "almost certain" that the second 30-year contract with "Gazprom" on the gas supplies to China through the "Altai" pipeline will be signed in 2015, the CNPC representative Zhang Xin told "Interfax": "The negotiations go very well this time". Earlier, the RF Energy Minister, Alexander Novak also stated that the contract could be concluded in the first half of 2015. But CNPC has not confirmed it yet.

The first 30-year contract to supply up to 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year through the "Power of Siberia" pipeline was signed in May, the two sides discussed it for 10 years. But "10 years ago, the price for gas offered by Russia was unaffordable for China", Xin stated. Since then the imported gas has become more affordable for China and the country's need for it increased. "Altai" has been discussed for a long time
