Authorities of Turkmenistan to introduce gas economy regime

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has informed that the Government intends to organize a revision of resources consumption in the country and installation of gas meters by population. According to the state’s Head, costs of payment for gas, consumed in excess, won’t be very big.

Benefits for consumption of gas, water and electricity were introduced by the first Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov in 1993. The republic’s parliament prolonged them till 2030. In 2008, Berdimuhamedov enrolled gasoline on the list of privileged energy sources. At the same time, limits of gasoline and electricity were determined – 120 liters and 35 kw/h respectively.
