The first negotiations between Russia and the EU after the start of the public conflict about the South Stream gas pipeline were pointedly cold. The parties officially became familiar with attitudes of each other, but the meaty discussions never started: according to the Kommersant’s information, Moscow and Brussels didn’t find a compromise on either point. The Head of the Energy Ministry, Alexander Novak and EU Commissioner Guenther Oettinger just agreed to create a working team, whose composition and form are not clear for while.
