Reuters: first lot of Russian oil has been shipped to the USA after a 4-year break

​Glencore has sold 100 thousand tons of Urals oil to Chevron for the supply to the USA. This is the first shipment of Russian oil to the USA after a 4-year break, Reuters reports referring to the oil traders.

According to the agency, oil was shipped from the port in Primorie on Jan 16-17 and will be shipped to one of the terminals on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Glencore purchased oil from Rosneft. A representative of the Russian company refused to comment.

Previously JBC research center called the renewal of supplies of Urals oil to the USA to economically reasonable.
