Gazprom Neft to invest 100 bln roubles into Novoport in 2013-2015
Gazprom Neft plans to invest 100 bln roubles into the project of the development of the Novoportovsky deposit (Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area) in 2013-2015.
Gazprom Neft obtained Novoport from Gazprom: in December 2012 it became the owner of 90% of “Gazprom Neft Novy port” LLC that holds the license for the large oil and gas condensate of Novoportovsky. In future the company will consolidate 100%.
In 2015, we plan to produce more than 3 mln tons of oil at Novoport. In 2013-2015 it is planned to invest more than 100 bln roubles into the project’s realization, the executive director of Novy port, D. Kashapov said.
He also said that Gazprom Neft plans to engage into the development 5 deposits from the undistributed fund located near the Novoportovsky deposit. Gazprom Neft hasn’t mentioned if it had applied to Rosnedra.
According to Gazprom Neft, the maximum production is forecast at about 8.5 mln tons of oil and 8-10 bln cubic meters of gas a year. The company plans to reach it in 2018.
Earlier Gazprom Neft reported that at the initial stage the production at the Novoport will be 400-500 thousand tons of oil a year.
Gazprom in the framework of the realization of the strategy in the sphere of oil business in 2009 decided to transfer to Gazprom Neft the rights for its oil assets, including for the Novoportovsky deposit in the Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area.
Novoport is the 2nd deposit obtained by Gazprom Neft from Gazprom. In late 2011 after the purchase of “Gazprom Neft Orenburg” CJSC, the company became the owner of the Eastern part of the Orenburg deposit and founds a new production cluster in Orenburg planning t produce 6 mln tons of oil equivalent a year in the region. The C1 and C2 recoverable reserves of the deposit exceed 230 mln tons of oil and 270 bln cubic meters of gas.
Gazprom Neft has been working at the Novoportovsky deposit as the operator for a few years. In 2012 the company successfully held the testing of the 1st drilled operational well at Novoport. The start of the annual oil production at the deposit is planned for 2014. In 2013 it is planned to drill 3 horizontal wells at the 2nd cluster of wells at the Novoport. The construction of the annual oil dispatch terminal will also start which is planned to be put into operation in 2014.
Earlier the head of Gazprom Neft, A. Dyukov, said the company will develop the Novoportovsky deposit by itself, not attracting investors.
The Novoportovsky deposit is the most northern out of the developed oil and gas condensate deposits of Yamal. It is located in the Arctic climatic zone, on the territory of the Yamal district of the Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area, far from the transport infrastructure,30 kmoff the coast of the Gulf of Ob where the ice-free period lasts for 3 months – July-September. In the spring 2011 Gazprom Neft confirmed the possibility of organization of the all-year round oil shipment from the deposit by sea.
