Tobolsk to allow Sibur to be ahead of competitors

Sibur will become the sole leader in Russia in production of ethylene after implementation of ZapSibNefteKhim project on Tobolsk industrial site, deputy chairman of the Board, executive director of Sibur Vladimir Razumov said at the II Tyumen Investment Forum.

The holding company came up to the realization of its next large-scale project with a strong own resource base. "Trial balloon" on the Tyumen ground became Tobolsk-Polymer plant, designed to produce 500 thousand tons of polypropylene. New project is industrial site near Tobolsk, with area of ​​410 hectares, which enables to produce annually 2 million tons of polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as 1.5 million tons of ethylene. For comparison, in 2014, all pyrolysis plants in Russia produced 2.2 million tons of ethylene, 550 thousand tons of which fell on Sibur.
