European Council supports idea of coordination of gas import contracts with the EC

Summit of heads the EU member states has supported the establishment of a mechanism for coordination of contracts on gas import to the Union countries with the European Commission, a source close to the leadership of the EU reported.

"The European Council has called for ensuring the full compliance of all agreements related to the purchase of gas from external suppliers with EU legislation, especially by increasing the transparency of contracts and coordination with energy security provision," - the conclusions of the Summit on the creation of an Energy Union says.
