The Forbes names largest purchasers of Russian oil
The Forbes has published the rating of the largest Russian oil buyers for the first time. It is based on the data on the volume of export transactions by results of 2015 and includes 20 companies. The buyers are in the list according to the total cost of the energy source, supplied to them.
The first place in the ranking is taken by Swiss oil trader Litasco, which is owned by Lukoil. According to the publication, the volume of the company’s purchases amounted to 35.8 million tons, and the amount of contracts - $13 billion. It is noted that the oil trading subsidiary of Lukoil not only exports products of the parent Russian company, but operates worldwide as an independent player. The company trades in Europe, the CIS states, Mediterranean, North and West Africa. After the cancellation of international sanctions against Tehran Litasco was one of the first that bought a batch of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products.
