Gazprom has really settled all problems with Turkish companies

Gazprom has managed to successfully settle all price disputes with private Turkish companies, the CEO of “Gazprom export”, E. Burmistrova, said but didn’t release the details as they are a commercial secret.

She said that: “We have reached all agreements, the companies have revoked their claims, there will not be any court proceedings. I hope in the current difficult conditions we managed to reach all commercial right decisions”.

The dispute between Gazprom and private Turkish importers (for example Enerco Enerji, Avrasya gaz and Akfel gas (all three are in the structure of Akfel Holding), Bosphorus gas, Shell Turkey, Bati Hatti and Kibar Enerji) broke up in early 2016 when Gazprom cancelled a 10.25% discount for gas that was valid from Jan 1st 2015.

Russia connected this discount with the construction of the Turkish Stream insisting on giving Turkey preferences only as a future partner by the project. After the incident with a Russian aircraft in Syria, the relationships between Moscow and Ankara worsened and the Turkish Stream was frozen.
