Decision on full loading of Opal gas pipeline is almost ready

The decision on the full loading of the Opal gas pipeline, which would increase the reliability of gas supplies to Europe, is almost prepared, it could be taken soon, Energy Minister, Alexander Novak said.

The Opal gas pipeline with capacity of 36 billion cubic meters goes through Germany, connecting new Trans-Baltic main pipeline Nord Stream with existing gas transmission networks. Russia and Germany wanted to achieve exceptions from rules of the EU Third Energy Package for the Opal gas pipeline, which allow Gazprom to fill not more than half of the pipeline.
