Russia and China announces duty-free natural gas trade

The negotiations on the supplies of Russian natural gas in Beijing with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's coming to their end. The Russian side has proposed to zero MET for gas fields that will supply gas to China on future contract, and the Chinese side expressed its readiness to abolish import duties on gas from Russia. This was reported by Rosneft’s head, Igor Sechin on the results of the talks.

Thus Russia and China approached to solving the issue of the basis price of Russian fuel. Igor Sechin called the achieved agreement "reasonable" and said that it could be a basis for the price compromise.
