Rosneft and Fincantieri plan joint projection of a new type of vessels for Zvezda shipyard

​Rosneft and Fincantieri  have signed the agreement on the main conditions of foundation of the JV in the sphere of projection of a new type of vessels, the construction of which will be held in the framework of the shipbuilding complex Zvezda. The document was signed in the presence the President Putin and PM of Italy, M. Renci.

The parties will also study the issue of development of professional competences necessary to control this project at the stage of ship building. The cooperation with Fincantieri S.p.A. will allow to increase the technical potential of the shipbuilding cluster Zvezda and will found the basis for the design of the innovation equipment, Rosneft says.

The CEO of Rosneft, I. Sechin, said that the partnership with the largest shipbuilding enterprise of Europe fully meets the company’s strategy of foundation of the modern shipbuilding cluster in the Far East of Russia. We are happy to say that the cooperation with the Italian partners presupposes the projection of certain models of equipment for Zvezda that don’t have analogues in the Russian market, he added.
