Sold a share in the oil company Samara-Nafta to Lukoil, the ex-president of Yukos Semen Kukes has engaged in wholesale trade of oil and oil products. As the RBK daily has got to know, he registered a trading company Nafta-Consulting in Moscow; today it is a participant of auctions at the St. Petersburg international commodity exchange.

The businessman of Russian origin with USA citizenship Semen Kukes has lived in the United States for 20 years; he returned to Russia in the mid-1990s. He was invited to Yukos in 1996. After working there as a Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development for two years, he moved to the Tyumen oil company. He headed it until 2003, then he returned to Yukos and later became the Chairman of the Yukos-Moscow’s Board of Directors (the management company of Yukos).
