Naftogas might purchase gas in Europe for the amount of $200 mln

​The International Financial Corporation (IFC) from the group of the World Bank might issue financing for the period of up to 1 year and up to $200 mln for the purchase of gas by Naftogas from a large European supplier ENGIE in conformity with the framework agreement between these companies.

According to IFC, the Board of Directors plans to consider this issue on December 17th.

The loan will be issued to ENGIE.

ENGIE is one of the main gas suppliers to the Ukraine since 2014.

The Minister of Energy, V. Demchishin, in July 2015 said that IFC considered an opportunity of a loan issue to traders for the purchase, storage at the underground gas storages and further sale of gas in the Ukrainian market.

Various schemes were considered, the Minister said.

The deputy chairman of Naftogas, S. Konovets, said that the loan can be issued to the companies which currently ship gas to Naftogas from Europe, in particular, Gaz de FranceRWE etc.
