NLMK shuts down its unprofitable plant in France

​The French subdivision of NLMK – NLMK Coating – has announced of its decision to close the plant in Botor, France due to the irresolvable economic difficulties, the company reports.

The French subdivision of NLMK has been facing a fall of demand for the main products for a few past years – zinced steel. From March 2015 NLMK Coating has been looking for a potential buyer. If we don’t find it, we will have to close the capacity, the deputy CEO of NLMK Coating, Y. Yarak.

NLMK Coating is a part of the European subdivision NLMK Europe Strip Products, the capacity of which makes up 1.8 mln tons a year. in Europe the production assets of NLMK are located in France, Belgium Italy and Denmark.
