World aluminum production (excluding China) decreased annually by 48 tonnes - up to 25.66 million tons in 2013, according to the statistics from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) and analytical agency CRU.
Despite the growth in aluminum production in the Middle East and Asian countries, the reduction of metal production in Europe, North and South America – of 1.2 million tons in total - has led to a deficit in the aluminum market.
RUSAL estimated that the deficit of aluminum on the world market (excluding China) in the continued growth of sustainable consumption and production levels reached 570 thousand tons.
