In 2011,the Volgograd metallurgical plant Krasny Oktyabr (VMZKO) dispatched metal products at the rate of about 12 billion rubles –  more than 10% than in 2010 (about 10.7 billion rubles).

VMZKO started increasing its sales volume at the beginning of Q4, 2011 when the new team of managers came to the plant. Before  Q4 the monthly dispatch made up about 20 thousand tons, in October-December – up to 24 thousand tons of finished rolled metal.

Commenting on the results of 2011 CEO of the plant, Dmitry Gerasimenko said, “We concentrated on our strategic prospective products – high-alloy and stainless steel grades in the framework of the program we have developed to overcome the crisis. It is worth mentioning that in 2011 average price of dispatch increased by 21% and made up about 50 thousand rubles per ton. The plant delivered large volumes to the largest car-building enterprises of the country – KAMAZ and AvtoVAZ. At the same time, we proceeded with development of new types of products. Last year we successfully mastered new grades of steel for such industries as aircraft building and shipbuilding. We also managed to expand our sales markets and obtain new clients at the territory of the CIS in conditions of strong competition. This year we are going to lead capital repair of electric furnaces in steel smelting plants and dispatch at least 30 thousand tons in accordance with the program we have developed”.
