Naftogas has filed a claim against Russia for lost assets in the Crimea

Naftogas has filed a claim against Russia to the international court concerning the collection of the loss caused by the loss of assets of Naftogas in the Crimea, the head of the holding, A. Kobolev, said.

We have filed a claim against Russia concerning the collection of the value of all assets that Naftogas lost in the Crimea or those assets to which we have no temporary access, for example on oil and gas extraction in the Crimea and at the shelf, he said.

According to A. Kobolev, this court proceeding will be much more difficult than that at the Stockholm court with Gazprom as there is the element of military actions and the respondent is not a commercial organization like Gazprom in our first case but the Government of Russia, he said.

In February 2016 Naftogas legally notified Russia of the investment dispute in the framework of the 2-party agreement on mutual protection of investment between the countries. In case if the dispute is not settled by the negotiations, Naftogas plans to address the Arbitration court.
