In Q1 Alrosa produced 8.2 mln karats

​In Q1 Alrosa produced 8.2 mln karats which is by 2% less than in Q1 2015.

In Q1 the volume of diamond sale grew by 34% to 12.1 mln karats against 9 mln karats in Q1 2015.

In Q1 2016, 8.9 mln karats of jewelry quality were sold at the average price of $146/karat and 3.2 mln karats of technical diamonds at the average price of $7/karat.

The price of diamonds of jewelry quality in Q1 2016 is by 12% lower than that of Q1 2015 ($166/karat) and by 9% lower in annual terms ($161/karat).

The revenue from the sale of diamonds in Q1 2016 is not less than $1.3 bln (in Q1 2015 - $1.1 bln).

The extraction fall is due to the reduction of ore processing volumes at the International pipe and partial replacement of ore of the Udachnaya pipe by the ore of the Zarnitsa pipe due to the termination of development of the Udachny mine.
