In Q1, Metinvest of Rinat Akhmetov reduced steel production by 11%

In the first quarter of 2014, the largest mining and metallurgical company of the Ukraine Metinvest (Metinvest BV, the Netherlands) reduced the steel production by 11% as compared with the same period of the previous year to 2 755 thousand tons that is also by 7% less than in the previous quarter, Metinvest’s press centre reported.

In the first quarter of this year, the production of cast iron grew by 3% as compared with same period of the previous year, but decreased by 3% as compared to the previous quarter to 2 796 thousand tons.
