Russia is ready to compete on Asian LNG market

Russia expects the arrival of new players on the Asian, including Japan, market of liquefied natural gas and is ready for competition, the head of the Russian National Energy Security Fund Konstantin Simonov said at the Russian-Japanese forum, which opened today.

"The Japanese market is a premium one – it has high prices, serious fight, and Russia is actively involved in this fight, - he stressed. - We expect the arrival of Australian LNG to the region, and maybe, in 20 years, even Iran's LNG. And we are ready to this competition".
