Turkish Stream will do crucial harm to the Ukraine’s economy
When Russia realizes the Turkish Stream, the Ukrainian gas transport system will lose its meaning.
The head of the energy programs of the Center of World Economy and International Relations of the Ukraine, V. Zemlyansky, wars of the coming catastrophe for the Ukraine’s economy.
According to him, Turkish Stream has turned into reality.
A similar situation was in 2007 when Nord Stream was under construction and the Ukraine didn’t pay attention to it. As a result we have 2 branches and reduction of transit volumes via the Ukraine. The similar situation might happen with Turkish Stream but it is more critical for the Ukraine as we fall below the profitability point, he says.
Less than 60 bln cubic m is lower than the profitability of works of the Ukraine’s gas transport system. Mr. Zemlyansky thinks that the consequences will be very poor for the Ukraine.
