By 2021 the Ukraine might fully refuse from gas import

Within 4.5 years the Ukraine will have all grounds to fully refuse from gas import by increasing its own extraction, the Minister of Energy and Coal, I. Nasalik, said.

The Ministry has worked out very interesting programs, we have good signs from investors – this is the completion o the 3rd and 4th blocks of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, he said.

We have worked out a program “Independence Curve” where the Ukraine in 4.5 years will  not simply import gas and we have everything for that, Nasalik said adding that the respective program was approved by the Council of reforms headed by the President.

According to the Minister, the Council of reforms also considered the issue of the growth of gas extraction by 6-6.5 bln cubic m. Gas loss, by which we heat the air, makes up 11.5 mln cubic m, he said.
