New technology of oil recovery is tested at the Vishankoye field

The pilot tests of intergovernmental Russian-Belarusian innovative project Visha-Termogaz have started at the Vishanskoye oil field in Belarus. The joint development is designed to increase the effectiveness of difficult to extract oil production.

The start to tests was given by leaders of the two companies - general director of Zarubezhneft Sergei Kudryashov and general director of Belorusneft Alexander Lyakhov. According to preliminary estimates of specialists, the pilot project will increase the oil recovery factor by 37%.

Today, the technology of thermal gas treatment to increase the oil recovery is one of the most promising. Unlike the cold water flooding, there is no threat of cooling the reservoir, wax deposition during the thermal gas treatment, and, on the contrary, low-permeability reservoirs are more actively involved in the development.
