Oil extraction coefficient at Prirazlomnoe twice less than at Norwegian deposits

The oil extraction coefficient at the Prirazlomnoe deposit is about 26% while it reaches 50%, sometimes higher than 60%, at similar Norwegian deposits.

The deputy head for science of the Oil and Gas Problems Institute of the Russian Academy of Science, V. Bogoyavlensky, said at the round table meeting “The scientific development of the Arctic”.

Norway is the world leader in reservoir recovery.

According to Mr. Bogoyavlensky, the Russian scientists face the goal of developing the technologies to improve the efficiency of the development of the Arctic hydrocarbons reserves.
