Shell can save on the deal with BG

​Royal Dutch Shell  might save billions on the purchase of its competitor BG Group, sources familiar with the situation said.

In April Shell announced of reaching the agreement on the purchase of its smaller competitor – BG Group – for $70 bln. The completion of the deal is expected to be held in early 2016. The purchase of BG Group will increase the proved oil and gas reserves of Shell by a quarter, extraction – by 20%, and will strengthen the company’s positions in new oil and gas projects, including in LNG-projects in Australia and deep-water projects in Brazil.
