Global oil production to lose $1.5 trillion of investments

The global oil and gas industry will lose $1.5 trillion of investment if the oil prices don’t increase above $50 per barrel. According to the Bloomberg, this is the forecast of the consulting firm Wood Mackenzie.

This applies mainly to the US shale sector, which is simply unprofitable at current prices, and it has to think not about investments, but about reduction in costs. In particular, operators of shale fields intend to reduce costs for new projects from 30% to 20%.
