Italian campaign in Yamal is over – Rosneft remains minority shareholder of Severenergia

Novatek and Gazpromneft haven’t allowed Rosneft to increase its package in the gas-producing company Severenergia, they bought the share of the Italian company Eni in the amount of 29.4%. Rosneft didn’t manage to agree with Eni on the price, and Novatek and Gazpromneft needed in this share to leave the state-owned company in the project only as a minority shareholder.

Novatek and Gazpromneft have concluded a binding agreement with Italia’s Eni on the acquisition of 60% in Arctic Russian B.V. Due to this share they will become owners of 29.4% in the gas-producing company Severenergia, Novatek reported yesterday. The deal amount is $2.94 billion; it will be concluded “after receiving the necessary approvals”.
