Rosneft discusses a purchase of oil trading business Morgan Stanley

The state-run company “Rosneft” is holding negotiations on the purchase of the  oil-trading subdivision of the American bank Morgan Stanley. Vedomosti reports,citing an edition SparkSpread.

“They are negotiations between Morgan and Rosneft. There is no agreement, the source, close to the situation said. According toa second source, he knows about the negotiations from informed people.

Morgan Stanley has tried to sell or separate the subdivision on oil trading because of its strengthening of control over the bank and the tightening of the requirements on capital.

The negotiations  not gone on for  long and could still  lead nowhere, SparkSpread said citing unidentified source. The spokesmen for Morgan Stanley in New York and “Rosneft” in Moscow have refused to comment.
